Ok so maybe the margaritaville joke wasnt actually funny...Anyways growing up we at a lot of pizza because its my dad's favorite food. We usually stuck to the basics and did delivery but sometimes upgraded to places like fellinis or mellow mushroom. However as I get older I appreciate a quality/fancier pizza much more. This maybe due to a summer spent in Italy, where I didnt eat much else. A new favorite (amongst many others) I brought back from my travels is margherita pizza.
Making pizza at home is a lot easier than most would think. At home I would generally prefer to make my own dough and use the grill to give it a more realistic quality, however I am not at home Im in my tiny college apartment kitchen so here's how I did it.

Using store bought dough works just fine as long as you use the dough you still have to cook not the pre-cooked kind (personal preference though)
Ingredients:
- fresh mozzarella
- fresh basil
- a good marinara sauce
- pizza dough
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. The kind of dough I bought didnt even require a rolling pin so it was super convenient, easy and cheap! Roll out and bake for 5 min or so.
Remove from oven and add sauce evenly, cut about mozzarella into slices about 1/2 inch thick and place on pizza
bake for 7-10 minutes (until dough looks done and cheese is melted). chop basil and sprinkle on top after pizza is done.
